Citric Acid 1KG
🌿 The Benefits of Using Citric Acid in Homemade Cleaning Products 🌿
A natural, non-toxic answer to household mineral build-up. Citric acid is a mild, plant-based cleaner that tackles limescale and hard-water deposits gently yet effectively—without resorting to harsh chemical descalers. It’s a lifesaver in regions with hard water, where mineral residue is more persistent.
Citric acid binds to hard minerals—breaking them down so they rinse away easily—and also helps remove rust, neutralise odours, and tackle mould—naturally.
✨ How Citric Acid Works in Cleaning
Stain Removal: Breaks down tough stains, rust, mineral deposits, and hard water marks.
Disinfecting Power: Naturally kills germs and bacteria, keeping your home clean without harsh chemicals.
Deodorizing: Neutralizes odors — perfect for freshening up kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry.
🧼 Easy DIY Cleaning Recipes
Washing Machine Deep Clean: After cleaning filters with your Natural Cleaning Spray or Natural Window Cleaner and removing the agitator to clean (if applicable), run a long, hot empty cycle with:
· 6 TBSP Citric Acid and 6 TBSP Washing Soda Ash for top loaders.
· 3 TBSP Citric Acid and 3 TBSP Washing Soda Ash for front loaders.
This will help dissolve mineral build-up and leave your machine fresh.
Dishwasher Descaling: After cleaning out the filter and wiping down seals with your Natural Cleaning Spray or Natural Window Cleaner and a damp cloth:
· Add 3 TBSP Citric Acid and 3 TBSP Washing Soda Ash to the powder dispenser
· Add some used lemons for that extra fresh smell if you like
· Run a long, hot empty cycle (or Machine Care) to dissolve scale and remove odours.
Descaling Solution: Combine 1 cup of warm water with 1 TBSP of Citric Acid into a reused spray bottle and shake well to dissolve. Use to remove limescale from kettles, coffee makers, shower glass and showerheads.

Citric Acid
Citric acid is a naturally occurring weak acid. In its concentrated form, it has a pH between 2.2 and 2.5. When diluted in water, the pH rises slightly — depending on the strength of the solution — usually settling around pH 3 to 4.
It’s a safe, biodegradable option for descaling, removing soap scum, and cutting through mineral build-up. Because it's a weak acid, it’s effective without being overly harsh — a great option for bathrooms, kettles, and anywhere limescale builds up.
